Project update

During the first month of 2020, the project team was hard at work finalizing and submitting required documents to DAS Enterprise Information Services for State Gate 3 approval. The Stage Gate process is a formal review and approval required for all state IT investments. We look forward to receiving this endorsement soon so that we can share the final project schedule with you.

Other project activities included conducting core team kickoff meetings with 22 of the 23 large and medium sized agencies and holding a small agency forum in Tigard. We learned so much throughout the sessions and want to thank everyone who participated.

OregonBuys: One unified system — modernizing state procurement

Agency wave enrollment update

Once we receive Stage Gate 3 endorsement, we’ll send out the start and end dates for each wave, along with a 2-week advance notification of when the agency enrollment period begins. Enrollment will be self-selected on a first come first served basis and should be completed by each agency’s Designated Procurement Officer (DPO) or equivalent. Please stay tuned for more on agency wave enrollment.

Stay in the know — attend a forum

State agency staff can sign up now to attend the February 13 OregonBuys forum which will be held at the Employment Department Auditorium from 9 - 11 a.m. This session will include targeted topics, a system demo, and a hosted Q&A session.

What can OrCPP members expect?

During Phase 1 when ORPIN is replaced with OregonBuys, Oregon Cooperative Procurement Program (ORCPP) members will be able to search Statewide Price Agreements and post solicitations. At the same time, we'll be working with a pre-selected group of ORCPP members to pilot additional functionality.

During Phase 2, the added functionality shown below will become available to all ORCPP members:

Once we get State Gate 3 approval we'll share the time frame for these project Phases along with training opportunities to help you get up to speed.

Vendors and suppliers - register now for OregonBuys

State agencies will begin using OregonBuys in mid-2020. The transition to this new system requires all vendors and suppliers to register in OregonBuys to continue doing business with the state.   Registration is easy and free!
