Project eNewsletter | August 2019 |
|
Last month we kicked off the OregonBuys project with a bang! Throughout August, we met with governance committees, Designated Procurement Officers (DPOs), and agencies with legacy systems in place. We also completed a procurement process inventory with DAS Procurement Services.
We're now focused on drilling deeper into our project plans and timeline with the goal of finalizing in October. We'll share more information as it develops.
In this month's eNewsletter we're sharing ways state agencies can start to prepare and inviting state employees to attend our new monthly forums. We look forward to seeing you at a forum soon.

State agencies can start preparing now for their transition to OregonBuys by taking the following steps:
- Take the agency procurement data collection survey.
- Start an inventory of existing agency payment and purchasing operations.
- Identify strong subject matter experts who know about the agency's procurement payment and purchasing processes.
- Attend an OregonBuys monthly forum. See the next section below for a schedule.

As much as we'd love to meet with each state agency individually - we need to be economical with our time. We've set up a series of monthly forums to begin providing demos and answers questions in a group setting.
Our first forum will focus on how to establish a core team and select an organization administrator. We'll also provide a system demo and a Q&A session.
State employees are invited to join us:
September 11, 2019 from 9 - 11 a.m.
Employment Department Auditorium in Salem
We'll record the session and make it available to state employees who can't attend in person. Click the button below to view a schedule of our future forums:

Oregon Cooperative Procurement Program (ORCPP) members will have similar functionality within OregonBuys as they have today in the Oregon Procurement Information Network (ORPIN). We'll provide training on the system prior to launch in early 2020. Stay tuned here for more details.

We're working on a terminology crosswalk so that agencies can prepare for the language changes that OregonBuys will bring. Watch for more information in our next eNewsletter.
