The project, funded by a Progressing Rural Economic Prosperity (PREP) Grant and a Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) Loan with 100% principal forgiveness totaling over $3.1 million, will install new waterlines and 72 new meters to homes in the Waterloo and Hiawasee area currently using private wells as a water source. Expanding service to this area will make safe, reliable drinking water accessible for these residents.
