OSLA IS YOUR TRUSTED ADVISOR
WHAT IS A GRACE PERIOD?
The grace period is a set period of time after you graduate, leave school, or drop below half-time enrollment before you must begin repayment on your loan. The grace period gives you time to get financially settled and to select your repayment plan. Not all federal student loans have a grace period. Note that for most loans, interest will accrue during your grace period.

WANT TO GET
AHEAD?
YOU CAN MAKE
PAYMENTS WHILE IN GRACE!
Interest accrues daily on your student loan from the
day it is disbursed until it reaches a zero balance. If you have a
subsidized loan the government will pay the interest that accrues while you are
in school or in a deferment. If you have an unsubsidized loan you are
responsible for all interest that accrues.
You can make interest payments on your
loans while you are in grace. OSLA will send a quarterly interest statement showing how much
interest has accrued. You can make a payment on our website by logging into https://public.osla.org and selecting Direct Loan Login. If you haven't already created an online account you will have to do so to continue. You can also send in a check/money order or call one of our friendly customer service representatives at 1-866-264-9762 to assist you with a check by phone.
