As you prepare for the holiday season, the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) reminds patients to be conscientious consumers:
1. Buy Safe, Buy Legal: Make safe, legal purchases from licensed dispensaries. Visit OMMA Verify to see and search for licensed businesses. Report suspicious commercial activity and/or unsafe products to omma.ok.gov/complaint.
2. Sharing Isn’t Caring: Licensed patients are prohibited from sharing legally purchased medical marijuana and medical marijuana products with any other individual whether licensed or not.
3. COA: Check the Certificate of Analysis (COA) on anything you buy at a dispensary and ensure product labels match the COA. Also, check the address of the lab on the COA — all medical marijuana products are required to be tested by a licensed laboratory located in Oklahoma. Talk to your budtender if you have questions or concerns.
4. Know Your Limits: Remember licensed patients can legally possess:
- Up to 3 oz. (84.9 g) of marijuana on their person.
- 6 mature marijuana plants and the harvested marijuana.
- 6 seedling plants.
- 1 oz. (28.3 g) of concentrated marijuana.
- 8 oz. (226.4 g) of marijuana in your residence.
- 72 oz. (2,037.6 g) of edible marijuana.
- 72 oz. of topical marijuana.
5. Safe Storage: Medical marijuana and medical marijuana products should be treated like something you get from a pharmacy — kept safely out of reach from children and pets.
6. Travel: Licensed patients are prohibited from traveling outside state lines with medical marijuana or medical marijuana products.
On our website, OMMA has a list of physicians who have voluntarily registered with OMMA. By doing so, these physicians are indicating their willingness to see patients and decide if a recommendation for a medical marijuana license may be provided. These physicians have authorized OMMA to share their information publicly. This list is provided only as a courtesy; OMMA does not endorse, warrant or guarantee in any way the services, availability or qualification of these physicians.
The public comment period is your opportunity to impact the rulemaking process by speaking on the rules that matter to you. Over the last two public comment periods, OMMA received — and individually responded to — more than 250 public comments. Based on feedback received during previous public comment periods, OMMA clarified rules, provided a summary of all changes in response to the comments and published an agency rule report on our website.
Oklahoma’s annual legislative session begins at noon Feb. 3, 2025. From then till the end of May, the Legislature will consider hundreds of bills, some of which are relevant to OMMA and the medical marijuana industry. Now is the time to reach out to your legislator and share your story and experience — it’s early in the legislative process.
As a resource, OMMA has a dedicated webpage to provide you with legislative updates during session. Medical marijuana-related bills for consideration in 2025 will be listed at omma.ok.gov/legislation once they become available. Please note this resource is for informational purposes only — it is not an indication that OMMA supports or opposes any legislation or their contents.
The OMMA Dashboard provides licensees and the public with data and analytics for Oklahoma's medical marijuana industry — including the number of commercial licenses by county, reported sales and harvest/plant counts, just to name a few.
Powered by NCS Analytics, this tool actively monitors and analyzes data from multiple systems like the state’s seed-to-sale tracking system. OMMA uses this information to help guide compliance and enforcement activities. View this data-driven tool at omma.ok.gov/data. Please note the dashboard is best viewed on a desktop browser.
OMMA offices and the Call Center will be closed Friday, Dec. 13, for a training event. OMMA and other state agencies will be closed for the following state holidays:
- Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 24-25, 2024: Christmas
- Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025: New Year's Day
