A partial resolution in the state inventory tracking system case was reached on Friday, Feb. 25. This means all commercial licensees have until Thursday, May 26, to become compliant with the Metrc statewide seed-to-sale tracking system.
OMMA will schedule at least five online seminars to take place by May 26 to help educate licensees about Metrc. The new seminars will incorporate feedback from Oklahoma licensees who have already taken Metrc training. They will also have subtitles or ASL translators.
Every business license needs its own Metrc account. Licensees who already have Metrc accounts and tags can still use them.
Dispensaries will have until Wednesday, Aug. 24, to sell or legally dispose of untagged medical marijuana products in their inventory. Those sales must still be tracked in the dispensary's point-of-sale system. We'll soon provide details on how to account for those sales within Metrc and/or OMMA's monthly reports.
Licensees with questions about how to use the Metrc system can call the Metrc Call Center at 877-566-6506.
OMMA will also ensure there is adequate OMMA Call Center staff on hand to respond to seed-to-sale program implementation questions. Reach the OMMA Call Center at 405-522-6662 or click here for OMMA email addresses by license type.
We'll provide more information about the seed-to-sale tracking system in future Commercial Licensing Updates and other emails directly to licensees, and on our website, Facebook and Twitter.
Are you on Reddit? OMMA is! And we're doing our first AMA (Ask Me Anything) on r/OKmarijuana from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 25.
OMMA and the subreddit moderators have tentative plans for an AMA discussing a different topic on the last Friday of every month.
The topic of the AMA on March 25 is compliance. Staff from the Compliance Department will be on hand to answer compliance and Metrc-related questions from Redditors in Oklahoma's medical marijuana community.
Be on the lookout for a post about the AMA early that week. You can ask questions all week, and come back during or after the AMA to see the answers.

We've added language to the new Thentia licensing portal to clear up some confusion on how to start an application to renew a business license -- after you've logged in and are in your dashboard, do not click the green "Apply for a new Business License" button.
First, click the "Manage Business" button to the right of the license you want to renew. On the next screen, you click "Start Renewal" to begin your renewal application for that business license.
Click here to watch our YouTube video on how to renew a business license in the new Thentia licensing portal.
If you get an email from OMMA that your business license application was rejected, log in to your dashboard on the Thentia licensing portal to see the reason(s) why.
The rejection email itself doesn't include the reasons, but logging into the dashboard will show you what corrections to make before re-submitting your application.
There's no new fee to submit a corrected application after it's rejected.
OMMA inspectors identified the top compliance issue during February inspections for growers, processors and dispensaries. Read more about each one below to make sure you’re on top of it before your next inspection. If you have questions about inspections, send an email to OMMACompliance@ok.gov.
Grower Inspections: Question 28. If the licensee disposes of non-medical marijuana waste, does the licensee maintain a disposal log for the past 5 years that contains at least all of the following information?
- The commercial licensee’s name and license number
- A description of the plant material
- A brief description of disposal method
- Disposal date and time
- Names of employee(s) conducting disposal
- A signed statement from the licensee or authorized representative
Inspectors found 123 licensees were out of compliance on this issue in February. Read complete details on Question 28 on the Grower Inspection Form and Reference Sheet.
Processor Inspections: Question 20. Does the licensee have inspection records indicating that a continual process of physical inspection for contaminants and filth has occurred for each harvest and production batch?
Inspectors found 37 licensees were out of compliance on this question in February. Read complete details on Question 20 the Processor Inspection Form and Reference Sheet.
Dispensary Inspections: Question 52. Does the licensee have fully completed transportation manifests for each instance of transporting medical marijuana and medical marijuana products to and receiving medical marijuana and medical marijuana products from other licensees for the past 3 years?
Inspectors found 94 licensees were out of compliance on this question in February. Read complete details on Question 52 on the Dispensary Inspection Form and Reference Sheet.
It's a big day for your business when your OMMA dispensary license approval comes in -- but don't forget one last step to help the Oklahoma Tax Commission have accurate information for your sales tax permit.
After the dispensary license approval, follow up with the OTC to update your sales tax permit. It should reflect that you're a licensed medical marijuana business.
Log in to your OkTAP account or contact the OTC for details.
