The Health Department is aware multiple communications are being sent regarding COVID 19. On March 4, 2019, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced several actions aimed at limiting the spread of COVID – 19. Their press release was released via multiple distribution networks. CMS issued a call to action to health care providers to ensure they are implementing their infection control procedures. Additionally, CMS announced, effective immediately and, until further notice, State Survey Agencies will focus their facility inspections exclusively on issues related to immediate jeopardy, infection control, recertification, and other serious health and safety threats.
