NOW OPEN: Oklahoma School Report Card Calculation Verification Review Window
The Oklahoma State Department of Education is committed to providing meaningful and actionable data that can inform and guide local educational practices. One way we lead this work is through the Oklahoma School Report Cards, which provides the public with a snapshot of how public schools across Oklahoma serve students in a variety of areas. After nearly three years of examination, we are pleased to share some minor adjustments to our school accountability system, which are outlined in this short video. These adjustments are driven by our theory of action that all students can grow, and all schools can improve, and will provide a clearer and more sensitive signal of student performance and school improvement.
In accordance with OAC 210:10-13-18(c)(6)(B), schools and districts have a minimum of 10 calendar days to review accountability calculations before public reporting of these data. The Calculation Verification Review (CVR) window will open Thursday, November 17, 2022. Calculations reviewed and verified during this CVR window will later be used to populate each indicator on the Oklahoma School Report Cards website at oklaschools.com.
During this CVR window, we ask schools to:
- Review student records to confirm that updates approved through each data verification review (DVR) process have been made (e.g., confirming that exit code was updated to 1921 for approved request submitted with transcript).
- Certify the calculation of each indicator score using the Accountability Reporting Toolkits; and
- Create a CVR to request a review of the data calculation for instances where the school district determines that a different score should be assigned because of the omission of certified student data, a data miscalculation, or special circumstances that might have affected the calculated score.
We have created several resources to support this window, which are available within the Accountability Reporting application. The Office of Accountability will also host webinars to further support schools and provide a space for questions. The webinars will be held on Wednesday, November, 30th. Please use the links below to register for the time that best fits your schedule. The webinar recording and slide deck will be available December 1, 2022 on the Accountability site.
Requests for OSDE to further review indicator calculations must be submitted via a CVR within the Accountability Reporting application by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.
Please note: No updates to student-level data can be requested during the CVR window, as these earlier data verification request windows are now closed.
