Currently, the office of Special Education Services is under renovations. Due to the renovations all of our phones are unplugged. However, all voicemails have been rolled over into emails and the specialist will return your call as quickly as we can!

If you are unsure, please call 405.521.3351 and leave a voicemail and we will direct your message to the right specialist for them to call you!

**UPDATED** TIP for EdPlan Administrators

If you are having issues with IEP, MEEGS, or RED, please read:

It is crucial to have at least three future Calendar years in the list of school years. The future school years are used with the calculation of the Projected IEP Date and Projected Eligibility Date located on the Student’s Eligibility Process/Referral page. Future Calendars use temporary ‘place holder’ dates that are easily updated when your school board determines the actual District Calendar dates. A good set of placeholder dates are the federal reporting period dates of July 1 as begin date and June 30 of the following year as the end date. When the actual District Calendar dates are determined by the school board, enter the first instructional date as the begin date for the current school year on the School years page.

Visit EdPlan Administrator’s Guide with step-by-step instructions starting on page 32

**NEW** Special Education Teachers in a Rural District?

Special education teacher shortages are taking a toll on rural districts, and for that reason, researchers at Old Dominion UniversityWest Virginia University, and Radford University are working together collaboratively to learn more about current professional learning and development experiences offered to special education teachers in rural communities.

This brief anonymous national survey has been approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB), and we kindly request your help by participating and/or disseminating the survey.

The survey will take approximately 12-15 minutes of your time. Please see our Survey Flyer for more information.

OKDRS Pre-ETS and Transition Services Survey

The survey will be open for responses until May 13, 2022.

The Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services (DRS), in conjunction with the Oklahoma Department of Education, Special Education Services (OSDE-SES) is seeking information regarding public knowledge of services available for transition-aged youth with disabilities in the state of Oklahoma, including Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) and various other services.  We are also seeking feedback on the quality of services available to individuals with disabilities (including youth), information regarding barriers to service provision, and comments on unmet needs.  Your opinions are very important and will help us better serve the transition-aged youth in our state.  Survey responses are anonymous, and participation is voluntary.  The survey is intended for individuals with disabilities age 18 and over, parents of youth with disabilities, DRS employees, School Staff, Pre-ETS Specialists, other State Agency Employees, and all other interested parties.  Any DRS or OSDE-SES services received or applied for will not be affected by your participation or non-participation in the survey.

SSI Recipients are Eligible for Discounted Internet Service

Internet access is now necessary for work, school, healthcare, and more. However, for many households, it remains unaffordable. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) wants everyone, including your clients, to access reasonably priced internet services. The FCC recently launched the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) to reduce the cost of getting online.
