OSDE Crisis Team is Available to Help with Crisis Responses

This is an unprecedented time with the COVID-19 global pandemic, and no one is immune to its impact. In addition to crises related to COVID-19, other crisis situations are likely to arise for schools, students and families.

There have already been reports of an increase in domestic violence. Child abuse, suicide and student/staff deaths may still occur, as may weather emergencies or other threat- or hazard-based crises.

During this time of physical distancing and distance learning, you may wonder how to help your students and families remotely through COVID-19 related or non-COVID-19 related crises. OSDE is here to help and will be providing response and consultation to schools as well as creating support documents to help districts.

In the meantime, for questions, concerns or assistance, contact the OSDE Office of Student Support and Crisis Team at erika.olinger@sde.ok.gov or trisha.goga@sde.ok.gov.

There are also resources available on the OSDE Counseling web page.
