Child Count Collection Notice

Because of the data transfer issues from the Wave to EdPlan, we are instituting a formal child count appeal process. Please review the appeal memorandum for details on how to submit an appeal to add missing students to your child count report. NOTE: Only request students that do not show on your report in Single Sign-on as of Oct. 5, and do not show on your Child Count Error report. If the student is missing due to an error, you must resolve the error for the student to show. We cannot add them through the appeal process.

Certification will open on October 3 (Wednesday) and close at EOD, October 17. Superintendents should review their FY2019 child lists in Single Sign-On/SPED Child Count by the 17th to certify their data.

Pepper Courses

New Courses in Pepper on 10/9/2018

Pepper is an online learning platform for teachers and administrators in Oklahoma. Course access is available through user login of OK EdPlan. Beginning 10/9/2018, three new courses are offered.

  1. Secondary Transition (OKSE121)-  This course demonstrates how to write a compliant secondary transition plan, a requirement prior to the beginning of the student’s ninth grade year or upon turning age 16 years of age. The purpose of a transition plan is to assist students in building the skills and supports they need to reach their postsecondary goals transitioning from school to post-school environments.
  2.  Behavior at a Glance (OKSE120)-  Classroom instruction is more effective when students understand expectations and a teacher has an appropriate response to student’s challenging behaviors. In this course, we cover a wide range of different interventions and explore how to address an appropriate response for behaviors.
  3.  Specially Designed Instruction (OKSE124)- The purpose of this module is to define specially designed instruction (SDI) as it relates to children with disabilities. This will serve as guidance for IEP teams, administrators, and educators as they determine the need for, plan and implement SDI for students with disabilities who require an Individualized Education Program (IEP).
