CAUTION: Scam Email Alert for Licensees

The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) has been made aware of fraudulent emails currently circulating that pose as official agency communications.

These emails are targeting commercial licensees with fake license suspension notices. The message urges recipients to select a 'Review Document' link; however, these links are malicious and should be avoided.

Please be advised that these messages are not from OMMA. Please exercise extreme caution if you receive any unexpected emails requesting immediate action, account verification or payment.

How to Stay Safe:

• Do not open links: Avoid selecting any links or downloading attachments from suspicious emails. These may lead to phishing sites designed to steal your credentials.
• Verify the sender: Check the "From" email address carefully. Scammers often use addresses that look similar to official ones but contain small typos or different domains. If you are ever unsure whether an OMMA email is legitimate, please reach out via the Contact Form on our website. A team member will verify if the communication originated from the agency.
• Check the OMMA MedPortal directly: If you are unsure about the status of your license or an application, log in directly through the official OMMA MedPortal rather than following a link in an email.

Recommended Action:

If you receive a suspicious email, please disregard it and delete it immediately. You may also report the message to your IT department or your email provider.
