Women's Hall of Fame Seeks Nominations
OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Commission on the Status of Women is currently seeking
nominations for the Oklahoma Women’s Hall of Fame. Inductees will be honored
Thursday, April 9, at the Oklahoma History Center.
The commission established the Hall of Fame in 1982 to recognize Oklahoma
women who have made a significant contribution to Oklahoma, who serve or have
served as role models to other Oklahoma women, who have championed women’s
issues or who have served as public policy advocates for issues important to
women.
The commission welcomes nominations of outstanding women, living or
deceased, who fit the criteria. To obtain a nomination form, go to http://www.ok.gov/ocsw/. The deadline
for submission is Jan. 30.
Former inductees to the hall of
fame include: Gov. Mary Fallin, Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange, former Lt. Gov.
Jari Askins and Dr. Laura Boyd, former Oklahoma House member.
