Women's Hall of Fame Seeks Nominations

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Commission on the Status of Women is currently seeking nominations for the Oklahoma Women’s Hall of Fame. Inductees will be honored Thursday, April 9, at the Oklahoma History Center.

The commission established the Hall of Fame in 1982 to recognize Oklahoma women who have made a significant contribution to Oklahoma, who serve or have served as role models to other Oklahoma women, who have championed women’s issues or who have served as public policy advocates for issues important to women.

The commission welcomes nominations of outstanding women, living or deceased, who fit the criteria. To obtain a nomination form, go to http://www.ok.gov/ocsw/. The deadline for submission is Jan. 30.

Former inductees to the hall of fame include: Gov. Mary Fallin, Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange, former Lt. Gov. Jari Askins and Dr. Laura Boyd, former Oklahoma House member.
