Date & Time: Began 11/22/2025 at 11:55 AM and ended 11/22/25 at 12:51 PM.
Locations: 3100 block of NW 11th St., 2100 block of NE 26th St., I-240 and Eastern
Deceased Victim: Richardson, Lenox (B/M, DOB: 6/24/1981)
Deceased Suspect: Hawthorne, Deante (B/M, DOB: 6/27/1991)
Involved Officer: Sgt. Clifford Beloncik – 10 years of service
Narrative: The chain of events in this crime spree began in Moore in the early morning hours of November 22nd. For information regarding any of the incidents that occurred in Moore, please contact the Moore Police Department.
After committing crimes in Moore, the suspect, Deante Hawthorne, drove a stolen vehicle to the area of NW 11th and May Ave. where he stole another vehicle at gunpoint. This robbery occurred at approximately 11:55 AM.
At 12:24 PM, police received a call of a shooting in the 2100 block of NE 26th St. The victim, Lenox Richardson, died as a result of the shooting. Officers quickly discovered this incident was also perpetrated by Hawthorne. The motive for this killing remains unknown.
Shortly thereafter, officers spotted Hawthorne driving near SE 44th and Eastern. A pursuit ensued culminating with Hawthorne crashing his vehicle on I-240 at Eastern, while driving the wrong way.
Hawthorne got out of the crashed vehicle and immediately began trying to carjack other passing motorists at gunpoint. During these robbery attempts, Hawthorne was struck by a truck. He quickly got up and was struck by a second vehicle. Hawthorne got up again, still armed with a pistol, and was shot by Sgt. Beloncik at 12:51 PM. Hawthorne was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Sgt. Beloncik has been placed on routine administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
