OIS #3 and Homicide #33 of 2025

Date & Time: 6/16/2025 at 5:22 AM.
Location: 3500 block of SW 17th St.
Deceased Suspect: Hill, Eddie (W/M, DOB: 6/23/1983)
Involved Officers:
- Officer Juan Quintana – 1 year of service,
- Officer Adam Brown – 2 years of service,
- Officer Isabel Sanroman – 1 year of service,
- Officer Marcus Oliveira – 1 year of service.
Narrative: Early yesterday, police responded to a call regarding a man threatening suicide, in the 3500 block of SW 17th. As officers approached the front door of the residence, Eddie Hill, who was armed with a knife, opened the front door, charged and attempted to stab the closest officer to him. Hill was ordered to drop the knife but instead continued to advance on the officer while still armed with the knife, resulting in Hill being shot.
Hill was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.
The four officers involved in the shooting have been placed on routine administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
