Got an old municipal warrant? Get it taken care of with OKC’s penalty reduction program

Start the year off with a clean slate by addressing your outstanding warrant in Oklahoma City Municipal Court at a reduced cost.
Anyone with a warrant for an unpaid municipal ticket for a class “a” offense issued on or before Dec. 31, 2022, is eligible for the program. The amount owed on an eligible citation will be reduced to lower than the original amount of the ticket if it was paid on time.
For example, resolving an overdue speeding ticket in warrant status could cost up to $613- $420 for fines, costs and fees, plus $193 for failure to appear charge. However, it can be resolved for $155 through the penalty reduction program.
“This program is perfect for people ready to pay their municipal tickets and start the year off on the right foot,“ Court Administrator/Assistant City Manager LaShawn Thompson said. “You will never be jailed if you voluntarily come in to address any warrant issued in Oklahoma City Municipal Court.”
As with any case in Oklahoma City Municipal Court, people with financial difficulties can request a hearing for a judge to determine their ability to pay. Judges can waive or reduce fines, costs and fees for people who can’t afford them.
Call (405) 297-3898 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, except holidays) or visit the Municipal Court Customer Service Window, 701 Couch Dr., from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every day but holidays to pay the ticket or request a hearing about financial difficulties.
