Narrative: On 10/31/2024 at 12:54 AM, police officers stopped a car for a traffic violation near SW 59th and May Ave. During the initial traffic stop, the front-seat passenger stepped out of the vehicle and was detained.
The driver, Timothy Foster, also got out of the vehicle, but then returned to the driver’s seat and sped away starting a pursuit.
As the chase made its way through southwest OKC, the driver stopped on more than one occasion and opened fire on the pursuing officers. On at least one of those stops, officers returned fire.
The pursuit ended when Mr. Foster pulled into his driveway at 2104 SW 66th St. After parking his car, Mr. Foster ran to the front door of the residence where he engaged the pursuing officers in a gunfight.
After a couple hours long standoff, officers from the OKCPD Tactical Unit made entry into the residence where they found Mr. Foster lying on the floor. Mr. Foster was taken into custody and transported to an area hospital to be treated for injuries received in the gun battle.
Upon release from the hospital, Mr. Foster will be booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on four counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon on police officers, possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony, possession of a firearm while in the commission of a felony, and numerous traffic charges related to the pursuit.
