Suspect/Deceased: Prince, Annette (W/F, DOB: 11/3/1946)
Involved Officers:
- William Robison – 11 years of service.
- Officer Brandon Cobb – two years of service.
- Officer Jonathan Espinosa – two years of service.
- Officer Quinton Garner – one year of service.
- Officer Casey Brown – two years of service.
- Officer Daniel Young – five years of service.
- Officer Jacob Welton – two years of service.
Narrative: On 10/10/2024 at 10:32 PM, police responded to what initially was believed to be an auto-pedestrian traffic collision. When officers arrived at the scene of the crash at NW 122nd and MacArthur, they found the driver of the car, Annette Prince, armed with a pistol. Ms. Prince refused to drop the weapon and fired several shots into the ground. Officers attempted to deescalate the situation and requested a ballistic shield and less-than-lethal equipment to the scene. However, Ms. Prince continued to refuse to drop the firearm and instead raised and pointed it at officers resulting in her being fatally shot.
Investigators learned this incident began with Ms. Prince being a passenger in a vehicle being driven by a female whom she knows, in the 5200 block of NW 123rd Terrace. For unknown reasons, Ms. Prince pulled out a pistol and shot the driver of the car twice. The driver quickly jumped out of the car and attempted to flee on foot. Ms. Prince moved to the driver’s seat, turned the car around and ran over the shooting victim.
Ms. Prince then tried to flee the area but crashed and disabled her car at NW 122nd and MacArthur. That is where officers found her, and where she was ultimately shot and killed.
The woman who was shot twice and ran over by Ms. Prince remains in an area hospital with serious injuries. Her prognosis is unknown.
The seven officers involved in the shooting have been placed on routine administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
