Victim: Hawthorne, Carlin (B/F – 09/02/2001)
No suspects in custody
Narrative: In the early morning hours this past Sunday, Oklahoma City Police responded to reports of gunfire at 3034 N. Portland Ave. The victim, Carlin Hawthorne, was shot while sitting in a vehicle. Hawthorne was taken to an area hospital where she died. Officers learned there was a fight in the parking lot which led to an exchange of gunfire. It appears Hawthorne was an innocent bystander. Three other people were struck by bullets and arrived at various hospitals. They all suffered non-life-threating injuries.
Currently, the investigation is in the early stages and no arrests have been made. Anyone with any information should contact the Homicide Tip Line 405/297-1200.
