Update to Homicide #8 of 2024
Incident #2024-0012253
Date & Time of Incident: 2/20/2024 at 5:24 AM.
Location: 8217 S. I-35 Service Rd. (Days Inn).
Victim: Porter, Anthony (B/M, DOB: 9/8/1979).
Arrested: Metcalf, Brandon (B/M, DOB: 7/30/1980).
UPDATE #1
Narrative: Next-of-kin notification has been made, and the deceased has been identified as 44-year-old Anthony Porter.
Further, investigators identified Brandon Metcalf as being involved in the death of Mr. Porter. Mr. Metcalf was arrested yesterday on a murder complaint. For more information, see the original news release below.
ORIGINAL NEWS RELEASE
Narrative: This morning, officers responded to a shooting call at the Days Inn, near SE 82nd St. and I-35. Responding officers discovered a deceased male in one of the hotel rooms. He appeared to have been shot to death.
Currently, there have been no arrests in this case. Anyone with information should call the Homicide Tip-Line at 405/297-1200.
