Homicide # 59 of 2023

Incident #2023-0069639

Date & Time of Incident: 9/22/2023 at 6:39 AM

Location: 5301 N. Lincoln Blvd.

Victim: Name withheld pending next-of-kin notification.

Narrative: Early this morning, police responded to a shooting at the Oxford Inn at 5301 N. Lincoln Blvd. Officers arrived and found one person critically wounded. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injury.

Investigators believe an altercation broke out on the second-floor landing of the hotel, when one of the involved parties pulled out a pistol and fired it, fatally striking the victim. The deceased does not appear to have been involved in the dispute that led to his killing.
