Date & Time of Incident: 8/24/2021 at 2:22 PM
Location: 2722 NW 36th St.
Victim: Smiley, Cameron (B/M, DOB: 6/22/99)
Involved Person: King, Latameryn (B/F, 38-years-old)
Narrative: Yesterday afternoon, police were notified of a stabbing call at 2722 NW 36th. Arriving officers discovered that the victim, Cameron Smiley, had been transported to an area hospital by private vehicle. Mr. Smiley was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Investigators learned that Mr. Smiley was involved in a physical altercation with his mother, Latameryn King. While trying to fight with his mother, Mr. Smiley was inadvertently cut with a knife and later died as a result of the injury.
Currently, no arrests have been made in this case. The Oklahoma County DA’s Office will determine what, if any, charges are appropriate in this case. Anyone with information should call the Homicide Tip-Line at 405/297-1200.
