Join civic leaders for a groundbreaking ceremony at 10 a.m. June 17 for a new clubhouse at Oklahoma City’s Earlywine Golf Club, 11600 S Portland Ave.
The 18,670-square-foot clubhouse will feature 24 covered and lighted driving range bays, a restaurant with bar service and patio seating with golf course views, grab-and-go café window, pro shop, men’s and women’s lounges and a new parking lot.
The building will also include a ballroom with space for 200 seated guests, an event lawn overlooking the golf course and a 12-seat conference room, all which can be rented for private events.
Large windows facing the course will provide natural light throughout the clubhouse. The exterior will feature a midcentury modern design and stone veneer.
“Golfers will love the new clubhouse and the modern amenities it has to offer,” said Golf Commission Chairman James M. Reid. “Anyone can reserve one of our lighted, covered bays and practice their swing while taking advantage of our food and bar service.”
The club’s two golf courses will remain open while the new clubhouse is under construction. A temporary building will serve as the clubhouse. The existing clubhouse will be demolished, and the new building will be constructed in its place.
The $12.7 million clubhouse is funded from the 2007 bond package and the bond program included in Better Streets, Safer City. The clubhouses at two other City-owned courses, Lake Hefner Golf Club and James E. Stewart Golf Course, also have funded improvement projects coming.
