Location: 101 E. Main St.
Victim: Vines, Mario (B/M, DOB: 2/27/1973) of Daphne, Alabama
Arrested: Reed, Tarius (B/M, DOB: 10/2/1982) of Daphne, Alabama
Narrative: In the early morning hours of February 28, 2021, officers were called to a shooting at the Holiday Inn in Bricktown. When officer arrived, they discovered the victim, Mario Vines, in a hallway at the hotel. Mr. Vines was pronounced dead at the scene. He appeared to have been shot to death. The arrested person, Tarius Reed was still at the scene and was taken into custody.
Investigators believe Mr. Vines and Mr. Reed got into an altercation when Mr. Reed produced a pistol and shot and killed Mr. Vines.
Mr. Vines and Mr. Reed are cousins and were in Oklahoma City for a few weeks for work.
Mr. Reed was interviewed by homicide investigators and subsequently booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on a complaint of murder in the first degree.
