SoonerCare Tips and Info

Call Back Feature

When you call the SoonerCare helpline, you no longer have to sit on hold. You can request a call back from the system instead of waiting for an agent to answer. You'll keep your place in line and an agent will call you back as soon as they're available.

Beware of Scams!

SoonerCare will never contact members asking for an insurance payment. If you receive a call asking for a payment, it is a scam, and you shouldn't give out any of your personal information.

Incorrect Login Password

SoonerCare has updated the security for the SoonerCare member portal. Now, after four incorrect attempts, the account will be disabled. If your account is disabled, you must call the SoonerCare helpline for a password reset at 800-987-7767.

Flu Shots

It's not too late to get your flu shot! December through February is peak time for the flu, but the season can last until May. Flu is a contagious illness caused by viruses that infect the nose, throat and sometimes the lungs. It can cause mild or serious illness and can sometimes lead to death.

Did you know SoonerCare covers most vaccines? To learn about the recommended shots that are most important for your health, click the links below:

To learn even more about the shots for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), click the links below. Getting the recommended RSV shot can help protect those at the highest risk of complications.

Some shots are only needed for certain groups of people. However, almost everyone 6 months or older should get a flu shot. Free flu shots are available at local county health departments and community health centers.

Children ages 0-18 years who are covered by SoonerCare can get their shots for free from Vaccines for Children (VFC) providers. Ask your health care provider if they are a VFC provider!

Adults 19 and older who are covered by SoonerCare can receive free shots from their SoonerCare contracted pharmacy or health care provider. Flu shots and other vaccines do not count against the monthly limit. There is no copay for these shots.

Want to view or print out a copy of your shot records? Visit the Oklahoma State Immunization Information System, OSIIS. You can view your shot records and find out which vaccines you may be missing.

Talk to your health care provider for more information about vaccine benefits and possible side effects. Have questions about pharmacy coverage of vaccines? Call the Pharmacy Help Desk at 405-522-6205, option 4, or toll-free at 800-522-0114, option 4.

Oklahoma ABLE Tech Reutilization Program Update

You can now search the device reutilization inventory again! Interested in applying? View the gently used durable medical equipment and assistive technology available through the programs below.

Device Reutilization Program

Device reutilization items are donations that ABLE Tech staff retrieve. They clean and refurbish each device. Devices are then matched through an application process to the best-matched Oklahoman. Any Oklahoman in need of medical equipment is eligible for the program. They are eligible regardless of income. Priority is given to SoonerCare members.

When you’ve decided what equipment will fit your needs, complete the application. Staff will match you with equipment based on the details in your application. You cannot request specific items from the inventory. Most images in the inventory are stock images, not photos of the exact piece of equipment listed.

Device Exchange Program

Items in the device exchange connect Oklahomans to one another for a direct exchange. The program functions like a free, classified, online marketplace. ABLE Tech can help you donate, sell or locate equipment for a reasonable price. This includes wheelchairs, modified vehicles, lift chairs and other devices/supplies.

To navigate the exchange portal, search by device type or device category (speech, hearing, vehicle modification, mobility, etc.). Or use a keyword search to find the item you are looking for.

For example, say you’re looking for a modified vehicle. Navigate to the reutilization inventory search and enter “van” in the search field. This will pull up any available matching items. See the example below.

Then, look for the person or company in the “Listed By” section. You can ask them more questions or schedule a time to buy the item. Check back often. The exchange list changes often!
