Governor Mary Fallin Announces DISH Expansion in Tulsa, Creation of 250 New Jobs
OKLAHOMA CITY — Governor Mary Fallin today announced that DISH Network will bring 250 new jobs
to Tulsa as the pay-TV provider expands operations in the city. DISH already
employs over 600 team members at its Tulsa customer care center.
“Today’s
announcement is great news for Tulsa and northeastern Oklahoma,” said Fallin. “It helps us
further diversify our economy and provide new career opportunities for
Oklahomans. We appreciate the DISH Network’s investment in Oklahoma, and are
excited they are bringing 250 new jobs to the state. Today’s announcement
is another great example that our pro-growth, pro-business policies are working
and are making Oklahoma an even better place to do business.”
“DISH’s continued growth in Tulsa and
the addition of new lines of service at this facility show that investments
made by Tulsans in our city are already paying dividends,” Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum said. “DISH
is a fantastic company and we look forward to assisting their team here in
Tulsa as they work to quickly fill these new positions.”
“DISH’s
investment in Tulsa is an exciting opportunity for both the company and
the Tulsa region,” said Mike Neal, president and chief executive officer of
the Tulsa Regional Chamber. “These high-quality jobs are a boon to our economy.
According to a recent labor market study commissioned by the chamber, the
region’s workforce is primed to support this type of white-collar job
growth. Tulsa is on a strong trajectory, and we’re happy to have DISH Network
as a part of it.”
DISH
is partnering with both the Cherokee Nation and the Tulsa Regional Chamber to
educate the local community about the 250 new jobs, which include frontline
sales, human resources, management, training, and customer retention among
other roles. DISH is expanding its existing facility at 1950 E 71st St., in
Tulsa to accommodate for the new positions. Recruiting is already underway, and
interested parties can visit http://careers.dish.com/inside-sales/tulsa. DISH will be hosting an onsite hiring event at its
facility from 1 until 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25.
“We
are proud to employ over 600 people in the Tulsa area, and as we prepared to
expand our frontline sales and support team, knew this was the ideal location
given access to talent and economic opportunity,” said Brian Neylon, DISH
executive vice president of customer acquisition and retention. “At DISH, our
core benefit to employees is opportunity, and we are eager to share this
opportunity with the talented Tulsa-based candidates who display boundless energy,
intelligence rooted in curiosity, and a continuous need to achieve.”
DISH team members in Tulsa are proud to give back to the
local community. Since 2015, the team has partnered with McClure Elementary
School to provide school supplies, canned food, clothing, and Christmas gifts
to support students and their families. The team continues to support numerous
other local nonprofits through drives, fundraisers, and volunteering, including
Special Olympics Oklahoma, the MDA Summer Camp, the Humane Society and the
Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.
