Runoff Primary Election Reporting of Independent Expenditures and Electioneering Communications

2020 Runoff Election IE EC

The Runoff Primary Election is 2 weeks from Tuesday, August 11, 2020.

Political Action Committees, Political Party Committees, and entities making Independent Expenditures (IEs) and/or Electioneering Communications (ECs) prior to the Runoff Primary election on August 25, 2020 may have reports due before the Runoff Primary election during either the Pre-Election Reporting period or the Next Business Day reporting period.

Pre-Election IE/EC Reports

August 11, 2020 - August 17, 2020 Reports Due: Pre-Election Reports are due for Committees and non-committees making IEs and ECs:

  • totaling $5,000 or more made prior to August 11, 2020; and
  • not previously reported on an IE/EC/SQC Report.

Next Business Day IE/EC Reports

Beginning August 11 and ending on August 25, 2020: Reports are due not later than the next business day for committees and non-committees making IEs and ECs:

  • totaling $5,000 or more and made from August 11, 2020 through August 25, 2020
  • once $5,000 is reached, each additional IE/EC will require a next business day report regardless of amount.

Reporting Tips

  1. Enter IEs and ECs in chronological order from oldest to newest
  2. Registered Filers: Prior to August 11, 2020, enter any IEs and ECs made prior to August 12 and not already entered in The Guardian System. 
  3. Registered Filers: Daily beginning August 11, 2020, enter any IEs and ECs to trigger any Next Business Day Reports that may be required.
  4. Where to Enter Data and Filing Reports:
  • Committees: Log-in to the committee's Guardian System account to enter the information and file the reports.
  • Non-Committees: Go to http://guardian.ok.gov, and use the Special Reports tab to access the IE/EC/SQC Reporting page.
