Dear Instructors,

Attention!!!!!  NASP has begun purging their BAI database.  If you did not submit an Annual Report this year, then you have been suspended and are not eligible to participate.  Without a report, you will eventually be deleted from the database.  All non-reporting coaches are suspended at this time.  To become reinstated, follow the link below to the NASP website, click “Submit a Report”, and then submit your report.

The 2018 OKNASP rules are available at wildlifedepartment.com, or you can follow this link:

https://www.wildlifedepartment.com/sites/default/files/education/2018%20OKNASP%20Rules.pdf

There have been several edits this year, and these are highlighted in yellow.  Among the edits, here are a couple of notable changes that should not be overlooked:

-3rd graders are no longer eligible to participate

-“shooting up” is no longer allowed, except by exemption through the small school rule (see rules)

These rules and amendments are developed by NASP and OKNASP will adhere to them.

The qualification format for the 2018 OKNASP State Shoot will be the same as last year.  Inter-school Shoots must be conducted to be eligible.  Schools submitting scores from Inter-school Shoots will qualify for a State Shoot.  To allow full participation, there will be (4) State Shoot events:

DATE EVENT LOCATION
February 14, 2018  West State Shoot Tier 2 OK State Fair Park, The Pavilion
February 15, 2018 West State Shoot Tier 1 OK State Fair Park, The Pavilion
February 21, 2018 East State Shoot Tier 2 Tulsa Expo Square, River Spirit Expo
February 22, 2018  East State Shoot Tier 1 Tulsa Expo Square, River Spirit Expo

Go to wildlifedepartment.com to view the 2018 OKNASP State Shoot county map to determine if your school is East or West.  Tier assignments will be determined from the submitted Inter-school Shoot scores.  Scores will first be categorized as East or West.  Then, they will be subdivided into upper and lower halves.  The upper half will be assigned the appropriate Tier 1 event and the lower half will be assigned the appropriate Tier 2 event.

Inter-school Shoot scores must be received by January 8, 2018 to qualify.

There is no limit to team size at Inter-school shoots, however no more than 12 scores, including 4 from each gender, will be used to generate the team score.  Also, there is no limit to how many Inter-school events a team may participate in.  Only one set of scores per team should be submitted.  Scores submitted must be from a single event (you cannot combine events to improve your team score).  The maximum team size for the State Shoot will be 16 students (including 4 of each gender).   All State Shoot participants will be scored with a team and as individuals regardless of team size.  Remember to have your score-sheet witnessed by another coach or administrator.  Be sure to keep a copy of all scores generated at your event.  Scores will be submitted through an electronic submission form that will be available soon, along with additional instructions.
