Members of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the ENDUI team will partner with the Canadian County Sheriff's Office, and the Mustang and Yukon Police Departments to conduct high-visibility patrols and a checkpoint this Friday, Feb. 15.
The checkpoint will operate from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Feb. 15 with the high-visibility patrols happening before, during, and after the checkpoint.
"Before you start drinking, take a minute to figure out how you're getting home," said Trooper Aaron Nickell.
In 2017, 13 people were killed in drug/alcohol-related crashes in Canadian County.
"Services like Uber and Lyft, as well as other ride-share services, are available across Canadian County to get you home safe. There is never a reason to drive if you've been drinking, using drugs or taking any medication that may alter your state of mind," said Nickell.
