Media Advisory: 9 Oklahoma officers among those to be honored Sunday during D.C. candlelight vigil

A candlelight vigil honoring officers added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial will take place at 7 p.m. Central on Sunday at the National Mall in Washington D.C. Oklahoma Department of Corrections Director Joe M. Allbaugh will honor nine fallen Oklahoma law enforcement officers who will be added to the memorial by reading their names. Johnston, Bristow Police; Sean Freedom Cookson, Craig County Sheriff's Office; Edward Jason Wright, Logan County Sheriff's Office; David James Wade, Logan County Sheriff's Office; Stephen Roshawn Jenkins Sr., Oklahoma Department of Corrections; D. Heath Meyer, Oklahoma Highway Patrol; Shack Palmer, Payne County Sheriff's Office; Henry Lester Cotton, Perkins Police Department; and Justin Michael Terney, Tecumseh Police Department

WHAT: The Oklahoma officers who died in 2017 will be among those honored today on the National Mall. Each of their names have been added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. ODOC Director Allbaugh will read off their names during the vigil.
