The Tulsa City County Library (TCCL) system has 24 libraries in its organization, including two in Broken Arrow, one near downtown and the other in south BA. The South Broken Arrow Library was built in 1993 but hasn’t been expanded to keep pace with the growth in the community or the foot traffic coming through its doors.
Despite its current size, the library has the fifth highest circulation of items out of the 24 TCCL libraries. Foot traffic at the South Broken Arrow Library has increased every year since 2021, and it is expected to increase its number of visitors by 67 percent through 2026.
TCCL has a plan to construct a new library in the empty lot east of the current location. The new building is being designed to be twice as large as the original with an estimated cost of $12,000,000. Features of the new building include a drive-up service window, outdoor reading area, play space for children, large community meeting rooms, homeschool classrooms, huddle rooms, tech hub, Dr. Clarence Oliver Children's Amphitheater, and much more.
Through planned capital savings and private fundraising, TCCL has raised $6,655,000 for the project to date, leaving a funding gap of $5,345,000. This is where we need your opinion!
We encourage you to complete this brief, two-question survey about the new library and the city’s potential contribution to the project. Please click the graphic of the conceptual renderings of the new library below, or this link, to access the survey today!
The survey is hosted by our partners at Polco. It opened July 28 and continues through August 18, 2025. We appreciate your participation!
