There were 40 items on the agendas of the Broken Arrow City Council, Municipal Authority, and Economic Development Authority meetings on Nov. 5, 2024. Here’s a recap from Tuesday night.
The Council awarded a construction contract to Ira M. Green Construction for the Highland Park Rugby Field Project. Located south of Highland Park Elementary School, phase I of the park includes regrading, sodding, and adding paved parking spaces for Rugby and practice soccer fields. The cost of phase I is $705,770 and paid with 2014 and 2018 GO Bonds. More on this item can be found here.
Council awarded a construction contract for the Brentwood Concrete Panel Replacement Street Repair project to Ellis Concrete Construction. The project includes the removal and rehabilitation of approximately 12,000 square yards of concrete roadway panels along with miscellaneous concrete work including sidewalk, curb, sewer, and ADA ramps. Brentwood subdivision is located in the southwest corner of Washington Street and Aspen Avenue. The cost of the improvements is $1.2 million and paid with 2018 Go Bonds.  Council awarded the lowest responsible bid to Anytime Roofing for the Broken Arrow Information Technology Communications Building Roof Replacement project. Located in the former fire station, the roof is at the end of its life span and requires replacement. The cost of the new roof is $103,460.54 and paid with Sales Tax Capital Improvement funds. The Solid Waste and Recycling Department submitted its Key Performance Indicators Report for September, which includes:
- 5,289,880 pounds of trash collected
- 820,400 pounds of recyclable materials collected
- 244,766 stops to provide service
The trustees received the Water Supply Report and the Wastewater Discharge Monitoring Report from the Utilities Department, also for the month of September. Those reports included:
- 473 million gallons of raw water were treated at the Verdigris River Water Treatment Plant
- The average daily usage was 15.8 million gallons
- Nearly 145.34 million gallons of wastewater was collected and treated at the Lynn Lane Wastewater Treatment Plant (LLWWTP) before being discharged.
- The average daily effluent flow from LLWTP was 2.97 million gallons.
