This time of year, we see an increase in the number of door-to-door solicitors in Broken Arrow and maybe you’ve even seen them in your neighborhood or at your home.
If a solicitor has applied for and obtained the proper permit from the City of Broken Arrow, he/she is legally allowed to work in the city. However, if you do not wish to be solicited by door-to-door solicitors, we strongly suggest that you place a sign stating either “No Soliciting” or “No Trespassing” on your property where it is clearly visible to the passerby. If you don’t have a sign, solicitors must obey your verbal command telling them to leave your property.
Please watch this brief video message from City Manager Michael Spurgeon about your rights, the solicitor's rights, and what you can do if a solicitor ignores your sign or verbal command to leave your property. Click the image to watch the video.
You may call the Broken Arrow Police Department non-emergency line at 918-259-8400 to report a trespassing complaint.
