Due to the forecast of dangerously cold wind chill values on Saturday, January 20th, the Solid Waste and Recycling Department is suspending services for Thursday customers. While we understand this suspension is not ideal for customers whose services had already been pushed back due to the inclement weather, this is a necessary change that will also impact services for the week of January 22nd.
The safety of City employees is our top priority, and we must minimize their exposure to the extreme weather conditions with wind chills forecasted in the single digits. The revised schedule is:
- Normal Thursday route customers will receive service on Monday, January 22
- Normal Monday route customers will receive service on Tuesday, January 23
- Normal Tuesday route customers will receive service on Wednesday, January 24
- Normal Wednesday route customers will receive service on Thursday, January 25
- Normal Thursday route customers will receive service on Friday, January 26
Inclement weather routes will continue next week which means trash and recycling carts will be emptied in one truck and offloaded at the landfill. Additionally, there will be no charge for extra bags of refuse left outside your cart during the week of January 22nd.
Thank you for your patience as we manage our operations during these extremely cold weather conditions. We appreciate your understanding and support.
