Cinco de Mayo Recap
Our Cinco de Mayo Fiesta was a hit! We are so thankful to everyone involved in making this event successful. From our partnership with Vega & Trevino Consulting to the beautiful entertainers to our food and shopping vendors to every single person who came out and enjoyed the festivities, THANK YOU! Events like these are what make the community of Broken Arrow such a rich and welcoming place to live, work, and play.
New Signage Coming Soon
In February, City Council approved designing new parking and wayfinding signage for the Rose District. The new signage will replace the existing signage and will make our downtown more accessible for visitors. The parking signs will direct visitors to the nearest free public city lots available for parking and the wayfinding signage will guide people to their desired destination and attractions of the Rose District. Installations of the new signage is projected for this fall.
Interactive Water Feature FAQ's
The Interactive Water Feature is back on for the season! Here are a few FAQ's on this Rose District favorite:
What time does the feature turn on?
The feature turns on daily at 9 am. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day the feature shuts off at 11 pm and while school is in session the feature shuts off at 10 pm.
Why has it shut off?
There could be a number of reasons why the feature as shut off. An emergency stop button is located on the north facing wall of the south pavilion that turns it off for 30 minutes. This is a safety feature in the case of someone getting hurt or ill while playing.
Another possibility is debris infiltrating the system. It is important that guests refrain from allowing trash or other items from getting in the system.
What is the difference between a splash pad and the interactive water feature?
Unlike the splash pads found at other City of Broken Arrow facilities, the water in the interactive water feature is recirculated. Meaning fresh water is not being pumped in continuously, but rather the same water is being recycled. The recycled water has standards but is not at a cleanliness to ingest.
Putting the rose in Rose District
What is the Rose District without it's beautiful roses? Our gardens are in full bloom and look as beautiful as ever this year. With over 100 different stands of roses you can enjoy walks and patio dining with the beautiful sights and smells of our incredible roses. A huge thank you to the city personnel who make our Main Street so gorgeous.
Building in the Rose District
The Rose District has seen incredible growth throughout the year. Part of this growth has been in the form of buildouts. Business owners put a lot of investment into the district by opening a business. Every location requires some kind of buildout whether it's redesigning to suit your business needs or the whole nine yards of a/c, plumbing, etc. We've also seen new buildings go up! From The Brio to the Brown-Kimbrough building, these new spaces create new opportunities for growth. There are so many businesses coming soon to the Rose District like TOAST and Ippin Ramen in the Brio and Indigo Tie Dye Co on Main Street.
