Sensory Sensitive Superhero & Princess Story Time Rescheduled

Due to inclement weather, this event was rescheduled to July 13 at the Rose District Plaza from 11 am - 1 pm. The Rose District is once again teaming up with AutismOklahoma to provide Sensory Sensitive Days in the Rose District. This time we will be joined by some of your favorite princesses for a story time and superheroes from Broken Arrow Police and Fire Departments will be there to meet! Crafts will also be provided by vendors and will make for a lovely day in The Rose District to play!

Trolley Survey

We need your help! The City of Broken Arrow Tourism and Economic Development office is surveying community stakeholders for their interest in a potential trolley service in Broken Arrow. The goal of the trolley is to provide transportation services to and from our hotels, shopping districts, and entertainment venues. We are in the initial phase of gathering information to provide a service for our visitors and residents to help promote events, dining, and retail.

Topping Out Ceremony

City Manager Michael Spurgeon addressed those attending “The Topping Out” ceremony for the Brown-Kimbrough Center for the Creative Arts Center which should be completed by early 2022. The center located on the former site of AVB Bank at 302 S. Main in the award-winning Rose District will be a 2 story 15,500 sq. ft. facility. The building will feature multiple classrooms, flex space, gallery space, and indoor/outdoor areas to host events. The center is another great project elevating Broken Arrow’s already great quality of life.

Kristin Chenoweth in the District!

Emmy and Tony winner and Broken Arrow-born Kristin Chenoweth ventured home for her annual Broadway Bootcamp hosted at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center. This year the camp looked a bit different for students. Going completely virtual allowed students and teachers to participate from all parts of the world.

A new business called “Sessions” has begun their buildout at 108 S. Main St. in the vacant building that was formerly “Hollow Tree Gifts”. A very unique concept, backdrops & sets are being built allowing customers to take pictures on their own or they can use a professional photographer which will be on hand.
