The first phase of the asphalt laydown of the Aspen Avenue and Washington Street intersection project is complete.  The contractors are now moving to the asphalt ancillary pavement.  The top two inches of the course surface will be milled off and a brand new S4 asphalt overlay will be installed.  This addition will make the transition to concrete smoother and a better ride for motorists traveling through the intersection.

Also, the improvements behind the curb are complete and the trimming and grating of the area are in the second phase. Now the contractors are preparing to move into the second phase of the concrete portion of the intersection.  Next week, they will begin to transition the traffic from the east side of the intersection to the west side.

Please use caution when driving through the area and remember the speed limit is reduced to 25 MPH in the construction zone.
