Who is eligible to apply?
The board of regents or board of trustees of a state educational institution which is a member of The Oklahoma State System of Higher Education will be considered an eligible political subdivision under the Political Subdivisions Opioid Abatement Grants Act. How to apply?
Applications will be accepted through an online portal found on the Oklahoma Opioid Abatement Grant website.
What can grant funds be spent on?
Grants may fund a variety of approved uses for opioid abatement benefiting an institution’s student body such as treatment and recovery programs, assistance with co-occurring disorders and mental health issues, opioid abuse education and prevention, proper prescription efforts, and strategies to decrease the supply of narcotics across the state. Who reviews the grant applications?
Grants are rigorously reviewed and approved by the Oklahoma Opioid Abatement Board.
How much money can my institution apply for?
The maximum funding for which each institution is eligible to apply is reflected below. These amounts reflect the total for the three-year project.
When will we know if our grant application was approved?
The Board anticipates these grants for three-year projects will be awarded in April 2026.
