Recycling
Event Scheduled in Dublin on Saturday, April 22, 2017
Columbus, Ohio
– April 7, 2017 – Each year, the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO)
sponsors Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) mobile collection events throughout
Franklin County.
On Saturday, April
22, SWACO and the City of Dublin will hold an HHW collection event from 8 am to
2 pm at Ashland Chemical Inc. (5200 Blazer Parkway). Any resident of Franklin
County may drop off HHW materials during this event.
Residents
can bring their old lawn chemicals, paint strippers, acids, insecticides, and
more for recycling and/or environmentally safe disposal. See a complete list of
accepted materials at http://www.swaco.org/Residents/HouseholdHazardousWaste.aspx.
There
is a $1 per container charge for the disposal of latex/water based paint.
HHW materials require
special handling and should not be put in the trash and sent to the Franklin
County Sanitary Landfill. In addition to the mobile collection events held
throughout the year, SWACO provides free HHW disposal services at a permanent
drop-off location at 645 E. 8th Ave., Columbus,
Ohio 43201.
In
addition to collecting HHW, representatives from Operation Feed will be on
hand to collect canned goods and cash donations, AMVETS will accept clothing, and
