Cases before the Commission are open for comment

The Commission is seeking comments from interested parties on cases related to House Bill 6.

Case 19-1920-EL-UNC instructs electric distribution utilities to file proposed new rates for county fairs and other agricultural societies. Those rates are to be submitted to the PUCO by November 13, and comments on the rates are due by December 4.

The Commission is also soliciting comments on the continuance of statewide energy efficiency programs once the statutory cap of 17.5 percent is met. Those comments should be filed by November 25. (Case 16-574-EL-POR, et al.)

 
Demand response

Demand response management meeting

The PUCO held a roundtable discussion on October 17 to discuss demand response management - the shifting or reducing of energy use in response to demand. Chairman Randazzo and stakeholders spent the day discussing the current situation and brainstorming possible improvements. 

This roundtable was the second conversation convened by the Commission to discuss complex issues and solutions with stakeholders and industry experts. These conversations are not tied to specific cases but are an opportunity to discuss issues in a broader conversation - look for future events soon.

Aqua Ohio

PUCO Aqua Ohio system improvement charge

The PUCO approved an agreement that authorized Aqua Ohio to increase its rates for water service. Aqua will add a 3.733% surcharge to bills - areas where Aqua's rates are established by local ordinances are not affected.

PUCO visit to AMP solar farm

PUCO staff and Commissioner Friedeman toured the American Municipal Power plant, wind farm and solar farm in Bowling Green, Ohio. During the tours, they received a first-hand look at how the plant and farms operate as well as details about AMP's history and organization.
