Troopers seize $18,000 worth of marijuana in Wood County

COLUMBUS - Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers filed felony drug charges against an Ohio man after a traffic stop in Wood County. During the traffic stop, troopers seized more than 3 pounds of marijuana worth $18,000.

On May 21, at 12:14 a.m., troopers stopped a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu with Ohio registration for a headlight violation on Interstate 75. While interacting with the occupants, troopers detected an odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed the contraband.

The driver, Brandon Harris, 25, of Findlay, was incarcerated in the Wood County Jail and charged with possession and trafficking in marijuana, both third-degree felonies.

If convicted, he could face up to six years in prison and up to a $20,000 fine.

A photo of the seized contraband is available for download on the Patrol’s website at www.statepatrol.ohio.gov
