LAKE TOWNSHIP – Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers
filed felony drug charges against two men after a traffic stop in Wood County. During
the traffic stop, troopers seized 140 grams of cocaine valued at approximately
$12,740.
On September 22, 2018 at 3:00 p.m., troopers stopped
a rented 2018 Chevrolet Equinox with New York registration for an improper lane
change violation on the Ohio Turnpike. Criminal indicators were observed and a
Patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed the contraband.
The driver, Ricardo Robinson, 37, of Atlanta, and
passenger, Rian Hairston, 40, of Detroit, were incarcerated in the Wood County
Justice Center and charged with possession and trafficking in cocaine, both first-degree
felonies.
If convicted, each could face up to 22 years in
prison and up to a $40,000 fine.
