An Akron man and carry out charged with drug sales

(CANTON) – An Akron man was arraigned in Akron Municipal Court on September 1 for drug sales inside an area carryout.

Agents with the Ohio Investigative Unit have charged Marquell Lawson, 30, with eight counts of drug related offenses. The charges come after agents purchased drugs from Lawson inside Dollar Magic, 1100 East Tallmadge Avenue. Lawson was arrested on August 31 on four felony warrants and booked in Summit County Jail.

Dollar Magic was administratively charged with two counts of drug sales. Lawson is not employed by Dollar Magic.

If convicted, Lawson faces jail time and fines. The administrative case against Dollar Magic will be presented to the Ohio Liquor Control Commission at a later date. Possible administrative penalties include fines, suspensions or revocation of the liquor permit.
