Agents seize more than $6,000 and three gambling machines at Canton liquor permit

(CANTON) – Agents with the Ohio Investigative Unit have administratively charged a Canton liquor permit with illegal gambling related charges.

FOE Aerie 1041 Canton, 2800 Atlantic Boulevard, was administratively charged with the following:

  • Three counts of acquire, possess, control or operate a gambling device
  • Three counts of operating a gambling house
  • Three counts of recklessly permitting public gaming

During a search warrant on April 11, agents seized three electronic video gambling machines and $6,474 in U.S. currency. OIU was assisted by the Canton Police Department.

The case will be presented to the Canton City Prosecutor’s Office for criminal charges. The administrative case will be presented to the Ohio Liquor Control Commission at a later date. Possible administrative penalties include fines, suspensions, or revocation of the liquor permit.
