FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 13, 2022

(COLUMBUS, OH) — Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) today announced the “Inclusive Employer Handbook,” a five-part webinar series to help employers create and sustain a disability-inclusive workplace.

“Ohioans with disabilities can offer innovative perspectives, problem-solving skills, and other strengths that can help businesses be more productive and competitive,” said Ohio Governor Mike DeWine. “Hiring individuals with disabilities as part of your team is a win-win for employers and employees.”

“We’re a resource to help Ohio employers leverage a unique talent pool and create disability-inclusive workplaces,” said Kevin Miller, OOD Director. “The series will help employers better understand how to meet business goals and positively impact workplaces by including individuals with disabilities.”

The webinar series corresponds with Governor DeWine’s Executive Order 2019-03D, which established Ohio as a Disability Inclusion State and Model Employer of Individuals with Disabilities, OOD’s Inclusive Employer Toolkit, and the Governor’s Inclusive Employer Award criteria. The series will conclude with an Accessibility Hour to answer frequently asked questions from the previous four webinars.
