FFY19 CESP Interest Survey - Reminder Closes 09/24/18

OOD will be closing the interest survey in one week (5:00 PM on Monday, September 24TH) so we wanted to send out a reminder.  So far 33 Providers have responded to the survey.  Please see the original invitation email below.  Thank you.

Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) is seeking interest from Providers for the CESP examination for Federal Fiscal Year 2019 (December 2018 – August 2019). Please note that this survey is to collect an interest and gauge number of potential Individuals and is not a guarantee of OOD sponsorship for the examination. Providers will be asked to submit a list of specific names for approval at a later date.

CESP REQUIREMENT

 

CESP is required, after December 31, 2018, for Providers who wish to offer Supported Employment Job Development (SE-JD) to supported employment Participants who are DODD eligible.  CESP is not required for SE-JD for Providers approved under the IPS model by the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services (ODMHAS).

 

To be eligible for sponsorship through OOD, Providers and their Staff must meet the following criteria

 

1. Must be a currently approved OOD VR Provider in PMP, either have accreditation or a waiver;

 

2. Preference will be given to Providers who are certified by DODD in the area of Individual Employment Supports and Career Planning;

 

3. Providers will be asked, at a later date, for the names of specific Individuals to be approved for sponsorship;

 

4. Individuals will be approved for two examination cycles (Exam is given every other month. Individuals who do not register within two cycles will be removed from the sponsorship list.);

 

5. Providers will be invoiced for their Staff who register for the examination and either do not attend the test or do not successfully pass; and

 

6. Provider Staff who do not show or successfully pass are not eligible for future funding opportunities for the CESP through OOD

The services described are funded, in part, with Federal funds awarded by the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) under the Vocational Rehabilitation (VR), Supported Employment Services, and the Independent Living Services for Older Individuals Who are Blind (OIB) programs. For purposes of the VR program, the Federal VR grant paid 78.7% of the total costs of the program. In Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2018, the VR agency received $100,336,097 in Federal VR funds. Funds appropriated by the State paid 21.3% of the total costs $27,155,767 under the VR program.
