A Scioto County man and several of his family members and associates have been indicted on charges related to a child sex trafficking operation in which the man allegedly exchanged drugs to sexually abuse the children of  mothers with drug addictions.

The U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio announced that Pablo Duran Ramirez was sentenced to 37 months in prison after pleading guilty to one count of encouraging illegal entry for financial gain as part of the labor trafficking scheme that brought Guatemalans to Ohio to work on egg farms.

A Lima man was sentenced to almost 42 years in federal prison for trafficking a 14-year-old girl from Celina.

A Cincinnati man was charged with trafficking in persons after he allegedly held two Warren County women in two different Mason hotels under threats of violence and forced them to provide commercial sex acts.

Attorneys for a Cincinnati teen charged with murder say the boy was a victim of labor trafficking at the hands of the man he is accused of killing, but a Hamilton County Juvenile Court judge disagrees.
