If you work on the SOT, and will be in the office on Thursday, Jan. 11, let's meet up at noon by the service elevator in the SOT lobby, dressed in blue, to show our support by posing for a group picture. If you work in another location, consider posing for a picture with your colleagues, dressed in blue, and email the picture to CreativeServicesTeam@mha.ohio.gov. We may use the pictures on social media, in the annual report, or in other ways to showcase our commitment to this worthwhile cause. |
To report suspected human trafficking, call 1-866-347-2423.
Scheduling Teams Meetings, Scheduling In-Person Meetings
When you need to collaborate with your colleagues, do you thrive on the energy of a full room, notes on a whiteboard, and the smell of hot coffee in the air? Or are you a person who prefers the comfort of your own workspace, a chat everyone can type into, and the ability to mute, share your screen, and record? Thanks to technology, we now have the option to schedule meetings both ways.
For those who need a refresher on how to set up an online Teams meeting or how to schedule a conference room in one of our buildings for an in-person meeting, view the job aid below.

Introducing: Peer Services, Bureau of Recovery Supports
Peer Services Priorities
A certified peer supporter is someone who has direct lived experience with behavioral health challenges, or someone who has navigated services on behalf of an individual with behavioral health challenges, undergoes rigorous training, and then uses their skill set to help others impacted by mental illness or substance use disorders.
The OhioMHAS Peer Services team consists of Manager Beth Knack, Peer Support Lead Sharon Fitzpatrick, and Mental Health Administrators Chelsea Baker, Desiree Bell, and José Flores. Together, their goals are to strengthen the peer services ecosystem in Ohio. Responsible for training, certification, and building community supports throughout the state, this team believes "having a lived experience gives you a Ph.D. in real life experience, so you are the authority on your life."
Manager Beth Knack raves, "This team’s work is AMAZING and there are so many things they do well." She names the team's recent ability to offer Recovery Month funding to several local organizations as one of their crowing achievements in 2023. Additionally, she credits the leadership of Recovery Supports Bureau Chief Zandia Lawson with the ability to effect change for so many people in our communities.
In 2024, Peer Services is looking forward to expanding the number of peer recovery organizations (PROs) and recovery clubhouses, and enabling data-informed decision making.
