Name: Tracy Hayes
Title: Policy Staff, Integrated Care Policy, Long-Term Services and Supports
What is your role in the Next Generation MyCare program?
I provide technical assistance regarding rules and regulations that apply to the MyCare Ohio program and work closely with a variety of Ohio Medicaid staff, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and sister state agencies to support program performance and compliance. I work with a variety of stakeholders including members, providers, and community organizations to answer questions about the program, develop tools and communications to assist with program navigation and help resolve barriers or challenges. I am currently working on updates to the Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 58 rules that give agency authority for the MyCare Ohio program, updates to program model materials, participating in readiness and implementation activities, and a variety of IT systems updates to support the MyCare Ohio program.

What are you most excited about for the Next Generation MyCare program?
I’m most excited about making the MyCare Ohio program available to all eligible individuals in Ohio. The added supports from MyCare Ohio plans have made a great difference in the lives of many Ohioans in our 29 demonstration counties. It is exciting to be able to offer those services to every eligible Ohioan.
What is something everyone should know about you?
I am extremely passionate about the Medicaid program. My entire career has been dedicated to giving a hand up to people in my community because I win when we all win. I was a Medicaid recipient, a community health worker, a county caseworker, and am a public servant for the State of Ohio. I’m always happy to be at your service and hope to be for many more years.

As we prepare for the implementation of the Next Generation MyCare program, there are various activities that Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) need to complete. ODM developed the AAA Implementation Checklist to help each AAA with transition planning. AAAs are responsible for reviewing and completing these items in a timely manner while continuing to collaborate with the Next Generation MyCare MCOs. The AAA Implementation Checklist is broken down into the following categories.
Activities for Completion
Activities that ODM expects the AAA to complete or take part in to prepare for the Next Generation MyCare program, such as attending academy sessions, community visits, and providing a staffing structure.
Transition Plan Summary
Document that summarizes how the AAA will implement changes for the Next Generation MyCare program and support continuity of care to members. ODM has provided a Transition Plan Summary template document with AAA points of contact to utilize for this summary.
Training Plan
Plan to outline how the AAA will complete required trainings on systems and policies to comply with state and federal requirements. Systems include the Care Director Case Management System and the Learning Management System. AAA 10b is developing trainings on behalf of all AAAs.
For More Information
For questions about these items and timelines for submission, reach out to your AAA point of contact or O4A. We will also share more information during the AAA Academy Part 3. We will send out an invite and registration soon for that event.
