The Ohio Department of Medicaid soon launches its annual managed care open enrollment for calendar year 2025. We want you to be prepared.

Ohio Medicaid’s annual open enrollment lets you take charge of your healthcare coverage for the year ahead. It’s the time of year when you can compare plans, the providers they work with, and the extra benefits they offer to make sure you’re getting services and supports you need and want.

2025 Managed Care Open Enrollment

Open enrollment for the 2025 plan year runs November 1 - 30, but you don’t have to wait until then. You can review the offerings and select a new plan anytime now through the end of November. Simply visit the Ohio Medicaid Consumer Hotline Portal at www.ohiomh.com or call the Ohio Medicaid Consumer Hotline at 800-324-8680 (TTY 711). Representatives are available 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturdays 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Eastern Time.

If you would like to stay with your current health plan, no action is needed for open enrollment. If you decide to switch, your new plan will begin covering you on the first day of the month following your selection. So, if you choose a new plan in September, coverage will begin October 1.

Letters are on the way!

Ohio Medicaid mails open enrollment letters between August and November to make you aware of the open enrollment period. You‘ll also get a phone call inviting you to connect with a customer service representative to ask questions or make a change.

Open Enrollment Resources

Ohio’s Medicaid managed care plans must offer medical, vision, dental, and behavioral health services as defined by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and state law. To stand out from the pack, each also offers its own value-added services ranging from transportation to pregnancy care to wellness rewards. Check out the resources below to learn more.

  • The Find a Managed Care Provider tool helps you identify which managed care plans your trusted providers are contracted or "in network" with.

As always, please contact the Ohio Medicaid Consumer Hotline at 800-324-8680 (TTY 711) if you have questions or need help.
